Constitution & Standing Orders

The Constitution

Read the KCSU Constitution here

The Constitution is the supreme governing document of KCSU, and its rules take precedence over any others.  It's a short document outlining KCSU's Aims and Objectives, its Membership and its basic Workings and Structure.

Amending the Constitution requires a two-thirds majority at an Open Meeting attended by 20 people, followed by approval of the College Council. Any proposed amendments must be circulated to all members four days before the meeting.

The Standing Orders

The Standing Orders are a record of KCSU's less fundamental rules and procedure.  They detail the day-to-day running of KCSU.

I. Open Meetings

II. The Exec Commitee

III. Elections

IV. Duties of Exec Members

V. Finance and Societies
